I walked in to the house and was hit with hellos. They came from every angle. The first was from Rosalie, followed by a hug.
Rose treated me like her own daughter; she even scolded me when I was out of line.
Next was from Emmett. He was like an older brother. He grabbed me in a giant bear hug, and held me there until Rose told him to stop.
"You're going to kill the poor girl." Rose said sternly to her husband. "Are you okay, honey?" She asked checking if I had lost a limb. If I had Emmett would surly be beheaded.
"I may be half human, but I'm pretty durable." I defended.
"You are half human, thus you are breakable." She replied. There was no use fighting with Rose, she would probably send me to my room.
I greeted Esme and Carlisle next. They were the coolest grandparents in the world. They helped me in everyway possible and gave me everything I needed.       They only got in a 'Hi' and 'How are you?' before Alice dragged me away.
"Sorry, but you have a pop quiz" Alice said as I sat down. The Cullens had created a complete classroom in one of there many bedrooms. It had a chalkboard and a teachers desk with a fresh apple on it everyday. I took a seat on one of the many seats and waited for her to hand out the paper. I tired to remember what she had been teaching. I think it was English. I had a faint memory of being assigned to read a book. I tired to remember what the book was called when the sheet hit my desk. The top read POP QUIZ. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Multiple choice. I exhaled a sigh of relief that it was multiple choice.
I raised my hand.
"Yes. Is there a question?" Alice asked, playing the role of my teacher and not my Aunt.
"Why can't you see my future? I need to know if I'll pass?" I asked, pleading.
"I don't know." She answered. "No more questions, any talking will be seen as cheating." She finished
"But Alice, I'm the only on here." I questioned.
"No talking." He face read 'please play along'. Alice loved to act.
I read the first question. J.K. Rowling places Harry in a plot where He has to compete in 3 challenges. What was the first challenge?
A. Save Ron from underwater
B. Face a dragon to obtain a golden egg
C. Find his way through a maze
I pondered, trying to remember the book, mainly trying to remember if I had read it. I decided to move on to the second question. In the end of the book, whom does Voldemort murder?
A. Cedric
B. Ron
C. Cho
My first question was, who was Cho? Oh, I was going to fail this.
I guessed on the questions and handed it in to Alice. She looked them over, marking them with her red pen. I waited until she handed it back, with a circled, fifty-six percent. I barley passed. Turns out Voldemort murdered Cedric, not Ron.
Alice walked over. She turned back into aunt Alice when saying. "Nessie, this was to see if you read the book. Did you read the book?"
I shock my head.
"Fine, here's the deal, read the book, I'll give you a retest next week. I need you to pass this test and then the exam to pass English. And it would help if you went over your math work too. How come when I teach you vampire stuff you ace it but when it comes to actual school, your barley passing?"
"Alice, think about it. What do you think I'm more interested in?"
"I see. But I still need you to pass. Please. The student is only as good as the teacher"
"Alice, you're an amazing teacher."
"Thank you."
"Am I free?" I asked getting my hopes up.
"Almost. I'm assigning you math pages and I'll call your dad too make sure you finish it."
"Alice." I moaned.
"Too bad."
"But I hate math."
"Your father will help you."
"'Kay." I sighed.
She let me go and I headed back home, to drop off my stuff then head over to Jacob's house on La Push. On my way out I caught Esme, for a real Hello.
"Hi Esme." I said
"Hi, darling. What's up?"
"Alice gave me math homework."
"Not a fan of math?"
"No, I'm not a fan of work, period." She laughed
Rose walked in. "what's this I hear about you not passing math?" she asked. How did she know?
"It's no big deal, Rose."
"It's a huge deal."
"Why?"
"Because, education will get you everywhere."
But I don't want to be everywhere. I want to be right here, forever."
Esme interjected. "I would love that." I smiled. Rose left before she got too motherly.
I ran home, and found my dad.
"Math help?" He asked.
"Ugh." I groaned
"Guess not."
I ran upstairs and headed out. My mom stopped me when I reached the door.
"Finished math?" she asked. God, news passed fast around her.
"I'll do it when I come back. Please let me go, you know how it feels to be in love."
"Go."
"Thanks, love you." I said as I ran.
